SUMMARY:7th International Workshop on Semantics for Transport and Logistics
DESCRIPTION:Integrated and intelligent transportation requires an interoperable ecosystem in which stakeholders are able to exchange and integrate data flows automatically and in a trusted manner. A Transport Data Space could improve every aspect of the passenger journey\, from ticketing to navigation\, from traffic to parking management\, and from car/bike sharing to door-to-door travel. A Logistics Data Space should safely and securely provide all information for optimizing supply chains in terms of both saving time and reducing carbon emissions. \nThis workshop seeks to advance the Transport and Logistics Data Space through Semantic Web\, Linked Data\, and Knowledge Graph techniques. In scope are methods to query and reason over integrated data on the web that can help an end-user plan and book a trip from A to B\, as well as extract insights and share information for supply chain operations management. We target researchers and practitioners who are contributing to the transformation of passenger and freight transportation by proposing new solutions based on semantic techniques and technologies\, as well as practitioners\, policy makers\, and standardisation experts. The workshop is an opportunity to disseminate and discuss use cases and studies demonstrating the application of semantic and web technologies to tackle the aforementioned challenges. \nGhent\, Belgium – co-located with the Semantics 2026 Conference \nFor more information and to register\, visit the event website: https://semantic-transportation.github.io/sem4tra-kg-website/

SUMMARY:ICE Resilient Transport 2026
DESCRIPTION:Future-proofing vital networks \nSeveral factors – including climate change\, emerging security threats and evolving usage patterns – pose significant challenges to critical infrastructure\, particularly the ageing assets on which transport networks often depend. \nFuture-proofing our transport infrastructure will mean building greater durability into the design\, construction and operation of new assets and\, crucially\, making the vast range that we already own more resilient. \nThe ICE’s new Resilient Transport conference will explore how engineers can achieve all this. The inaugural event\, to be held in Manchester on 23-25 September 2026\, will focus on innovation\, adaptation and effective asset management. \nIt will comprise a two-day content programme on 23-24 September\, with speakers presenting papers across several streams\, followed by technical site visits on 25 September. It will also feature an exhibition\, a gala dinner and numerous other networking opportunities. \nThe conference will cover themes including: \n\nBuilding resilience across transport networks and asset lifecycle stages.\nAdapting ageing infrastructure while balancing budgets and risks.\nUsing digital tools and data to build smarter renewals programmes.\nReducing carbon and waste.\nApplying a systems approach to infrastructure and delivering wider value from projects.\nDesigning assets that can adapt to evolving transport trends.\n\nThe full programme will be announced in summer 2026. \nFor more information and to register\, visit the event website: \nhttps://www.ice.org.uk/events/conferences/resilient-transport

SUMMARY:MotorTransport Decarbonisation Summit 2026
DESCRIPTION:The Decarbonisation Summit Returns – Driving Real Change in Road Freight\nNet zero remains the destination\, but the route to get there is proving more complex\, costly and uncertain than many wanted to believe. The past few years have moved the conversation on. The sector has tested technologies\, trialled vehicles and begun to invest. In doing so\, it has exposed the realities: \n\nInfrastructure is not keeping pace\nEnergy capacity is constrained\nVehicle supply remains limited\nCustomer demand is low\n\nThe cost base is rising\, not falling. And the political environment is shifting in ways that create as much uncertainty as clarity. \nAt the same time\, the expectation to decarbonise has not weakened. Operators are being asked to move faster\, invest more and take on greater risk\, often without a clear or stable commercial framework to support those decisions. \nThis is where the pressure now sits. \nThe challenge is clear. The industry must now work out how to deliver decarbonisation in the real world. \nThis year’s summit is a call to action. It brings together operators\, policymakers\, energy providers and technology specialists to confront the realities of delivery and to focus on what happens next. Not in principle\, but in practice. \nEvent overview \nDay One: Study tour | 7 October \nAn in-depth visit to Tyseley Energy Park in Birmingham\, offering a working view of the infrastructure and technologies shaping the transition. \nDelegates will explore electric charging\, hydrogen and low carbon fuels\, and see how these systems are being deployed in an operational environment. \nThis is an opportunity to engage directly with the people building and running the solutions\, and to understand what it takes to make them work at scale. \nDay Two: Main conference | 8 October \nThe conference programme focuses on the decisions that now carry real consequence. \nSessions will explore: \n\nWhich current decarbonisation pathways are commercially viable\nHow operators are managing risk in an uncertain investment landscape\nAligning policy\, customers and supply chains\nThe gap between policy ambition and operational reality\nInfrastructure readiness and the constraints of the energy system\nWhat a workable transition model actually looks like.\n\nThrough operator-led insight\, senior-level debate and open discussion\, the event is designed to challenge assumptions and surface practical answers. \nFor more information and to register\, visit the event website: Freight Decarbonisation Summit 2026 – Home Page

SUMMARY:Quality Bus Conference
DESCRIPTION:This unique event will bring together local authorities\, operators\, consultancy and service providers to share best practice across the bus sector.\n\n\nQuality Bus is an event run by the industry for the industry. Produced by the Bus Centre of Excellence and Landor LINKS\, this event will bring together the bus sector in times of major change. \nThe increasing devolution of bus operations will mean changes in route planning and frequency\, along with potential for new partnerships with service operators. \nLocal authorities will have greater control over funding for bus services\, including concessionary travel and subsidies. \nThe Bus Centre or Excellence (BCoE) is ready to build skills and capacity as the bus sector gets ready for these key developments. Whether following the franchising or the enhanced partnership model for improving local bus services\, all places in the country need the right skills and capability to deliver attractive bus services as part of an integrated\, net zero transport system. \nThe Bus Centre of Excellence will help all those serving the bus sector to grow the skills and understanding they need to deliver better bus services for their areas. \nFor more information and to register\, visit the event website: Home | Quality Bus 2026

SUMMARY:2026 Winter Simulation Conference
DESCRIPTION:The Winter Simulation Conference 2026 will focus on one of the most pressing challenges confronting humanity – Building resilience in the face of climate change.\nRising global temperatures\, driven by climate change\, pose increasing risks to both natural and human systems. Climate resilience refers to the capacity of a system to anticipate\, prepare for\, respond to\, and recover from the adverse impacts of climate change. Such systems include social and institutional structures\, as well as operational networks such as transportation infrastructure\, healthcare systems\, and supply chains\, all of which are increasingly vulnerable to climate-related hazards such as extreme weather events\, flooding\, heatwaves and droughts. Simulation provides a powerful means of modeling complex systems under future climate scenarios\, enabling researchers and practitioners to test adaptive strategies\, assess system vulnerabilities\, and plan for effective response and recovery. \nFor more information and to register\, visit the event website: Winter Simulation Conference 2026
