Researcher
Dr Heather Steele is a Research Associate at Durham University, with broad-ranging expertise in modelling, simulation and data analysis for railway systems.
Her core interest is in how digitalisation through the railway lifecycle – from system design through testing and into operations – can contribute to sustainability.
Over the past 10 years, Heather has collaborated with various industry partners to help inform system improvements and future strategy. This includes work on: synthetic environments; timetabling; system testing verification and validation; condition monitoring; operational performance analysis and energy efficient train control.
