The Department for Transport (DfT) is the UK government department responsible for the country’s transport system, including road, rail, maritime, aviation infrastructure, policy and investment.
The DfT’s Departmental Scientific Adviser provides advice to ministers and senior officials. This includes making sure that science and engineering evidence and advice is robust and high quality, and that it underpins policymaking and service delivery.
