
MUHAMMAD IMRAN

Professor Imran is a Professor in Communication Systems at the University of Glasgow and received his MSc (Distinction) and PhD degrees from Imperial College London in 2002 and 2007 respectively.
He is the Head of James Watt School of Engineering; Head of University of Glasgow’s Communications Sensing and Imaging (CSI) research hub and Director of Glasgow UESTC Centre of Educational Development and Innovation. He has served as Dean of Graduate Studies and Dean of Transnational Education for the College of Science and Engineering. He has also served as an affiliate Professor at the University of Oklahoma, USA; Adjunct Research Professor at the Artificial Intelligence Research Center (AIRC) at Ajman University in the UAE and a visiting Professor at the University of Surrey’s 5G Innovation Centre.
He has led several multi-million funded international research projects including the lead role for the urban testbed of Scotland 5G Centre. Professor Imran has a global collaborative research network spanning both academia and key industrial players in the field of wireless communications. He has supervised 60+ successful PhD graduates and published more than 500 peer-reviewed research papers, including more than 300 in Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) journals.
