CLIVE ROBERTS

Professor Clive Roberts is Executive Dean for the Faculty of Science at Durham University. Clive’s research interests are focused on improving the performance of engineering systems, with a particular focus on transport and critical infrastructure.
His specific academic interests cover a range of interdisciplinary areas including sensing and data analysis, complex system simulation, control systems, energy and sustainability, risk and safety assessment, AI and machine learning, cybersecurity and systems engineering.
Professor Roberts has an extensive knowledge of railway signalling and control, power and traction, and operations and maintenance. He is a Council Member and Fellow of the Institution of Railway Signalling Engineers (FIRSE) and Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (FIET).
