The Last Mile | A meeting of the Sustainable Transport CPG
How we transport goods at the local level has become a critical issue for climate, public health and urban space. Last-mile deliveries are a growing source of emissions, congestion, and disruption in towns and cities across Scotland.
Join the first session in the CPG’s new freight series as we explore the challenges and opportunities of decarbonising last-mile logistics. We’ll be focussing on how Scotland can deliver cleaner and smarter local freight systems that work better for both communities and businesses.
We’ll hear from:
- Oliver Lord, Clean Cities Campaign, on best practice from European cities on cutting emissions from freight in cities
- Emma Bayliss-Chan, Royal Mail, on how the Royal Mail became the UK’s greenest parcel operator
- Toby Hiles, Grid Smarter Cities, on the role of kerbside management in creating greener, safer and more efficient cities
Before heading into Q&A and discussion.
Please note: this event will be hybrid (in-person in the Scottish Parliament, Committee Room 5 or online via Teams).
