Application deadline: 13 April 2026.
We are recruiting a Research Associate with experience in transport, supply chain and logistics modelling to contribute to the development and use of MILES and MATRA, a suite of computational logistics and transport models, to support a significant research portfolio. You will work with our multi-institutional project teams who are collaboratively developing impactful outcomes that contribute to the goals of the TransiT, DARe and ACES projects.
Fully-funded PhD Scholarship on ‘Simulating public transport environments: modelling behaviour and systems for safer, more resilient, and greener transport’
University of Leeds
Full details and how to apply here
Application deadline: 31 March 2026.
The objectives of the project will be to
- analyse an existing database of sensor data collected within bus and train environments to identify passenger movement patterns, crowding levels, and interactions with key features of the built environment. This will require substantial data wrangling and pre-processing to extract reliable trajectories and flow patterns
- Integrate sensor-derived behaviour with external datasets, such as service timetables and meteorological information
