Julie Salama

Research Student

Julie is a PhD researcher and Graduate Teaching Assistant at Heriot-Watt University within the TransiT Research Hub. With a background in applied psychology, she is interested in advancing more inclusive and accessible transport systems, particularly for people with hidden impairments. Her work is driven by a commitment to reducing stigma, improving support, and bringing psychological insight into the design of environments that better respond to people’s diverse lived experiences. She holds an MA in Research and Applied Psychology from San José State University in California, and her broader interests include disability theory and user-centred approaches to inclusion.
